The long road that has been the Kansas City Royals season continues as they lose last night to Seattle 6 to 3.  Former Kansas City captain Mike Sweeney helped do in his old team as he would score twice and also drew a bases loaded walk.

The Mariners got on the board first with two runs in the second inning.  Kansas City would score one run in the top of the third when David DeJesus doubled home Josh Anderson.  Anderson had singled to lead off the inning.

Seattle would score another run in the third, after a throwing error by Royals third baseman Mark Teahen , allowed the Mariners Franklin Gutierrez to score from third.

In the fourth, Seattle would score two more runs after three straight hits.  The Royals would cut into the Mariners lead when Mitch Maier hit a two run home run in the top of the fifth.

That would end the scoring for the Royals.  Seattle would go on to score one more run in the bottom of the seventh.

Gil Meche will take the mound tonight as they play game three of the four game set.  Ian Snell will start for Seattle.  First pitch is 9:10.
