Football and baseball make for a busy August

Steve Walsh from our news dept. joins me today on my Pressbox Podcast.  The Cardinals are in a pennant race and are starting to pull away in the NL Central.  I think Chris Carpenter should be the Cy Young winner.  Steve explains why he won’t be.

A little league team from Columbia could be playing in the Little League World Series.  How cool is that.

I’ll be at the Missouri Tigers’ first scrimmage of fall practice.  Are they getting screwed being picked third in the Big 12 north?  Yes, but as Martha Stewart would say…"that’s a good thing."  (and why am I quoting Martha Stewart?)

The Chiefs and Rams have their first preseason game.  Steve says the Chiefs will get to 8 wins first.  I agree, but not until 2010.  He thinks I’m nuts.
