Albert Pujols had two doubles to make it six hits in a row,  but the rest of the lineup managed just four.  Cardinals beat by the Mets, 9-0.  Kyle Lohse gave up a two run homer to David Wright in the first and three more runs in the second.  The Cardinals split their two games series in the Big Apple.

Lohse lasted just 2.2 innings.  This was his shortest outing of the year and now Lohse (4-7) hasn’t won a game since May 23 against the Royals.  He gave up seven hits and walked two.

Pujols’ two hits came with no runners on and two outs and never really threatened the Mets the entire day.  Mets’ starter Joe Niese left after 1.2 innings with an injury, but the change in pitcher didn’t help the Cardinals as Nelson Figueroa pitched 4.1 innings while striking out five.
