The Chiefs signed quarterback Matt Cassel to a long term agreement.  Now, they need to find another guy or two he can throw to.  Head Coach Todd Haley may be looking for veteran presence as three receivers were given a look at camp on Monday.

Free agents Amani Toomer, David Terrell and D.J. Hackett all come in with the experience Haley may be looking for.  The 34 year old Toomer has played 13 years with the Giants.  Terrell was a former first round pick of the Chicago Bears, a graveyard for NFL receivers and Hackett is the youngest of the group.  At 28, he has four years experience.

Haley already brought in Bobby Engram, a 14 year vet who will be asked to make the tough catches up the middle.  He along with Mark Bradley, again a former Bear who hasn’t quite lived up to potential and third year player Dwayne Bowe certainly give the Chiefs a good base to work with at the wideout position.  However, there is no doubt the Chiefs need another receiver.  After the three I mentioned, there is a significant drop off in talent and/or experience with rookie Taurus Jackson, second year player Rodney Wright, and four year player Jeff Webb rounding out the receivers.
