Missouri Basketball will have a school record number of Big 12 games appearing on national television. The Big 12 Conference announced its men’s basketball schedule for the 2009-10 campaign on Wednesday and the Missouri Tigers will enjoy nine nationally-televised contests.
Mizzou will have eight games appearing on the ESPN networks, while the March 6 regular-season finale against Kansas at Mizzou Arena will be televised on CBS.
Missouri has three Big 12 Conference games not currently listed for television. Home games against Iowa State (Feb. 10) and Colorado (Feb. 24) and a road game at ISU (March 2) will have the option to be televised by the Mizzou Sports Network. That announcement will come at a later date.
Missouri opens Big 12 play with three consecutive national TV appearances. The Tigers host Kansas State on ESPN2 on Jan. 9, before traveling to Lubbock, Texas, on Jan. 13 to face the Texas Tech Red Raiders on ESPNU. Missouri then travels to Oklahoma on Jan. 16 for an ESPN or ESPN2 game. If the game is designated for ESPN, game time is slated for noon. If ESPN2 televises the game, it will be carried at 1 p.m.
