MIAA to play in the Kanza Bowl

July 21, 2009 By admin Leave a Comment

The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) has signed an agreement to send one of its programs to the Kanza Bowl in Topeka, Kan., to face a member of the Lone Star Conference.

The highest-finishing MIAA team not selected for the Division II playoffs will have the choice to play in either the Kanza Bowl or the Mineral Water Bowl.

The Kanza Bowl, one of only four NCAA Division II bowl games, will be played the first Saturday in December each year, always featuring a match-up of teams from the MIAA and Lone Star Conference. The agreement with the bowl includes the option to renew the contract for up to two additional years after 2009.

The MIAA also sends a representative to the Mineral Water Bowl. The conference’s highest-finishing MIAA team not selected for the Division II playoffs will have the choice of playing in the Kanza Bowl or the Mineral Water Bowl, while the next highest-finishing non-playoff team will have the option to play in the remaining bowl.
