Miguel Montero hammered out 4 hits, including his second home run in as many nights, to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals Saturday night at Busch Stadium.

The Redbirds struck first in the 3rd inning when Albert Pujols drove in his 90th RBI of the season with a hit to bring home Brendan Ryan. Arizona tied it up in the 4th.

The Diamondbacks went ahead in the 6th with Montero blasted his 7th dinger of the season. Arizona picked up an insurance run in the 8th and one more in the 9th. The Cards picked up a second run in the 9th but could pull no closer.

D-Backs starter Dan Haren (10-5) pitched 8 innings for the win. Chad Qualls earned his 17th save. St. Louis starter Adam Wainright (10-6) took the loss after giving up only 2 runs in 7 innings of work.

The Cards and Diamondbacks close out their weekend series Sunday afternoon at Busch. Joel Piniero (7-9) takes the mound against Arizona’s Yusmeiro Petit (0-3).
