Plaster Field light poles are coming down

July 17, 2009 By admin Leave a Comment

One of the light poles at Plaster Field on the Missouri State campus in Springfield fell on Tuesday.  No one was hurt.  Inspectors examined the other three light standards and have decided they should be removed as well.  The poles should be removed within a week at an estimated cost of $25,000.

University officials are now exploring several options including the use of temporary lights for football and other activities in Plaster Sports Complex this year.  They need to get  advice and estimates on how to best permanently replace the lights, and the timetable for doing so.  They also need to determine if the light standards on the poles can be reused.
