John Clayton of ESPN.com is reporting that the Chiefs have signed quarterback Matt Cassel to a six year, $63 million contract.  Cassel has one season of NFL experience as a starter after coming on in week one after the Chiefs knocked Tom Brady out of the season.

Cassel will make a guaranteed $28 million for a contract that could keep him in a Chiefs jersey through 2014.  Cassel threw for almost 3,700 yards and 21 touchdowns.

The Chiefs acquired Cassel along with veteran linebacker Mike Vrabel in a trade back in February after signing a one year deal with New England.
