Royals’ outfielder Coco Crisp who just had surgery on his right shoulder will now need surgery on his left shoulder too.  His left shoulder is not as bad as his throwing shoulder on the right side, but despite both surgeries, he should be ready for opening day in 2010.

If the Royals decide to ditch Crisp who would make $8 million next year, they would owe him $500,000 in a buyout.  Crisp was hitting .228 with 14 RBI and 13 stolen bases while starting in 49 games in center.

The Royals activated catcher John Buck from the disabled list after, making room by optioning infielder Tug Hulett to Class AAA Omaha.  Buck will be available tonight in Detroit.  He hit two home runs in six games in Omaha.
