Brian Bannister pitched another quality start, and the offense gave him support this time out as the Royals won 6-3 Sunday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium to gain a 2-2 series with Chicago.

Bannister allowed two runs over six innings and Miguel Olivo hit his 13th home run as Royals won their second straight against Chicago.   Down 1-0, the Royals tied the game on a two out single from Willie Bloomquist.  After the White Sox got to Bannister for another run in the top of the fourth, the offense came right back sending Chicago starter Clayton Richard to the showers with four hits and three runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Olivo’s 386-foot blast off reliever D.J. Carrasco to left extended the Royals’ lead to 6-2 in the bottom of the fifth. Former Royal Jermaine Dye homered off reliever Jamey Wright with two outs in the top of the eighth to cut Kansas City’s lead to 6-3, but reliever John Bale came on to record the final out in the eighth.
