The Royals couldn’t pull of the sweep this afternoon in Houston as Lance Berkman hit two, two run homers off Royals starter Brian Bannister to help beat the Royals 5-4.
Up 1-0, Bannister gave up a double to Carlos Lee in the 2 nd before Berkman hit his first home run and then after the Royals battled back to take the lead, Berkman hurt Bannister again.
In the bottom of the 6 th with the Royals up 4-3, Bannister walked Lee to start the inning and Berkman followed with his second shot. Houston’s Brian Moehler didn’t have much defensive support, as he gave up four runs, just one earned in his five innings of work.
The Houston bullpen shut the Royals down holding them scoreless from the sixth inning on.
