The Missouri Tiger baseball team opened up Big 12 tournament play with a 5-2 win over Texas A & M Wednesday evening in Oklahoma City.  Steve Gray homered and had two RBIs while Big 12 first team selection Kyle Gibson allowed just three hits in six innings.

Greg Folgia drove in runs in the first inning and third innings on a sac flies to give MU a 2-0 lead.  Gray added to that lead with a two run shot to left in the fourth.  The Tigers would go up 5-0 in the sixth when the Tigers scored an unearned run on an error by A & M’s second basemen.

Gibson was his usual self on the mound holding A & M to three hits and three walks while striking out seven in six innings.  Gibson gave way to the bullpen as head coach Tim Jamieson hopes to save Gibson for deeper in the tournament.

A & M rallied for two runs in the ninth and had the tying run at the plate before Mizzou closed the game out.
