Mary Ann Beattie of Chesterfield’s consistency off the tee was too much for nine time champion Barbara Berkmeyer this year.  Mary Ann made also made crucial putts that helped her win her first Senior Women’s Amateur title.

Beattie has been a USGA Senior amateur qualifier several times and has held a recent National Club Champion title .

Defending champion, Barbara Berkmeyer just happens to be one of Mary Ann’s best friends and appeared to be pulling for her even though they were battling for the title.  Harriette Meyers of New Madrid had been tied with Ms. Beattie coming in to the final day, but couldn’t improve on her opening round of 80 to mount a charge.
