C.C. who?  Against the Cardinals, it certainly doesn’t look like the Milwaukee Brewers miss the lefty, whose arm carried them to the NL Wildcard last season.  Once again Brewer pitching did just enough while their offense took advantage of their opportunities by completing a sweep of the Cardinals with an 8-4 Monday night.

Former Cardinal Braden Looper picked up the win going six plus innings and holding St. Louis scoreless through the first six.  After the leadoff hitter got on, Colby Rasmus hit his third homer.  Looper would be charge with another run when Skip Schumaker would hit a two run shot later in the 7 th off reliever Mark DeFilice.

By then, the Brewers were up 7-0, thanks to a four run fourth inning.  After back to back doubles from J.J. Hardy and Ryan Braun scored one, Prince Fielder walked.  Cardinal starter Kyle Lohse got Mike Cameron to pop out and Corey Hart to strike out swinging, but Mat Gamel hit a three run homer to right.

Lohse went just four innings allowing those four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five.  The Cardinals used seven relievers as the Cardinals tried to scrap their way back into the game.  The Cardinals, with this sweep fall three games out of first place behind Milwaukee with second place Chicago in town for three games.
