Last week, I interviewed Central Missouri Mules baseball coach Tommy Myers and he said, "You better put us away & keep stomping us."   He was right.  The Mules were 3-1 heading into today’s South Central Regional final with two of their wins have been come from behind wins in their last at-bat.

Emporia State would not give them the chance to do that today.  The Hornets scored seven runs in third inning and had a 14-0 lead in the 6 th on their way to a 15-6 win over Central Missouri.   The Mules finish 44-15.

The 13th ranked Mules committed five errors including three in that seven run third.  Only six of the Hornets runs were earned.

Brooks Martin started on only three days rest, and gave up six unearned runs in 2.1 innings. The only one of the six Mules pitchers that was effective was senior Chris Matlock, who tossed the final 2.2 scoreless innings, and gave up only one hit.

Freshmen Bret Schwartz, along with senior Will Feil and sophomore Jon Wegener earned All-South Central Regional All-Tournament Team. Matlock also made the team, going 2-0 and pitching 9.2 scoreless innings, giving up only four hits all weekend.
