For the fourth time in five years the Missouri Western Griffons softball team will be making a trip to the NCAA Division II National Softball Tournament. The first three years were in the Central Region while this year is in the South Central Region.

The Griffons went 45-10 on the season finishing in the 6th spot in the region and will take on the 3rd seed Abilene Christian Wildcats (42-13) on Friday, May 8 in Durant, Okla. with first pitch set for 12:00 pm. The Griffons went 3-6 in their previous three regional tournaments. 

The MIAA Regular Season Champion Jennies softball squad earned its third consecutive bid to the NCAA Tournament today, and will head to Durant, Oklahoma as the No. 7 seed in the South Central Sub-Regional. They will face second-seeded and host Southeastern Oklahoma State on Friday at 2:30 p.m.

The Jennies (36-12) will play in the four-team sub-region, with the winner advancing to play in the super regional May 15-17 against the winner of the other sub-region in the South Central Region. The other teams in the Jennies bracket this weekend include No. 2 seed Southeast Oklahoma State (50-10), No. 3 Abilene Christian (42-13), and No. 6 seed Missouri Western (45-10).
