Senator Bond pays tribute to longtime friend Jack Kemp, the former New York Congressman who died last weekend. Bond says Kemp never held high office in the House and he was never in the majority during his term in Congress. But, Bond says, he helped transform the Republican party through the power of his ideas and his “sincerity and enthusiasm” in spreading them.

Bond says Kemp is a role model for the future of the Republican Party who once said, “The best way to oppose a bad idea is to replace it with a good one.
