Zack Greinke fanned 10 en route to his second straight complete-game to power the Royals to a 6-1 rout of the Tigers in the first game of a weekend series at Kauffman Stadium.
Greinke improved to an AL-best 4-0, while permitting only three hits and one-run, which was unearned to end his streak of 38 scoreless innings for Kansas City.
Alberto Callaspo and Mark Teahen both homered and Coco Crisp plated a pair of runs for the Royals, who upped their record to 9-7.
The second game of the set is tonight in Kansas City.
