Cardinals Sweep Mets

April 24, 2009 By admin Leave a Comment

The St. Louis Cardinals completed a three-game sweep of the Mets with a 12-8 win at Busch Stadium Thursday afternoon.

Albert Pujols had a big day, homering twice, driving in three and scoring four times.   Rick Ankiel went 3-for-4 with a two-run dinger, while Skip Schumaker and Ryan Ludwick each plated a pair of runs.

Kyle Lohse picked up his third win on the year, allowing just one earned run on eight hits over five innings.

The Cards are now 11-5 on the year and begin a weekend series with the Cubs tonight. Adam Wainwright gets the ball for the Cards taking on Ryan Dempster.
