Strong pitching lead the Kansas City Royals to a 2-0 win over the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field Wednesday night.

Brian Bannister picked up the win tossing six innings of four-hit ball, walking two and struck out one to pick up the win in his first start of the season. David DeJesus had a sac-fly and Willie Bloomquist singled in a run for Kansas City. Joakim Soria notched his fifth save of the season.

The Royals snapped a two-game skid to improve to 8-6 on the year. The finale of the three games series is this afternoon with Gil Meche starting for KC against Anthony Reyes for the Tribe.
