The St. Louis Blues first NHL playoff series in five years ends without a victory as the Vancouver Canucks topped the Blues 3-2 in overtime to complete a four game series sweep.

The game winner came as Alex Burrows scored with 19 seconds remaining in the first overtime. With time winding down in the extra session, Willie Mitchell cleared the puck out of his zone and down the other end. Burrows grabbed the puck along the right boards and from the right circle wristed it between the five-hole of
Chris Mason to win the game. Burrows also had a goal in regulation along with Kyle Wellwood while Roberto Luongo made 47 saves for the Canucks.

For the Blues, Brad Boyes and David Perron each had a goal while Mason stopped 33 shots in the loss.

Vancouver got on the board 5:20 into the first period as Wellwood’s wrister
from down low beat Mason for a 1-0 lead. Burrows made it a 2-0 game at the 9:23 mark of the second, tipping a Shane O’Brien pass down low.

The Blues would march back though, scoring twice in a span of 3:24 to tie the game.
