B.J. Crombeen helped solidify the St. Louis Blues playoff position by scoring two goals and work horse Chris Mason made 28 saves for the Blues who beat the Coyotes in Phoenix 5-1 moving closer to their first playoff appearance since 2004.
The Blues won for the seventh time in nine games to move two points ahead of Nashville for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Predators lost 4-2 in Chicago.

Keith Tkachuk had a goal and an assist and Brad Winchester also scored for St. Louis.  This is the first time they’ve swept a season series over the Coyotes and before that the Winnipeg Jets franchise. 

After the Blues fell behind just over six minutes into the game, the Blues unloaded five straight goals including three in the second period where Tkachuk assisted on one and scored his. 

The Blues host Columbus on Thursday.
