Cardinals starter Joel Pineiro says his arms is feeling great and he’s just about for the start of the season.  He says he expects to go 85 pitches in his next outing and is ready to stretch it out after going five innings in the Cards’ 4-3 loss to Houston.

Pineiro said he struggled at times with the movement of his pitches and when he tried to ease up a bit that’s when he would leave the ball up.  That was evident on Pudge Rodriquez’ 2nd home run of the spring.

Chris Perez who took a few days off was back in game action and gave up the winning run in the 9th inning, but a couple of those hits he allowed were hit on the ground and just found holes.  Overall, Perez pitched pretty well.

Skip Schumaker continues to produce at the plate.  He had a double and a walk and made a beautiful diving stop on his back hand to get a batter at first.  In fact, Skip’s play made ESPN’s top 10.
