Tigers advance to 2nd round with win over Cornell

The #3 seeded Missouri Tigers will play Marquette on Sunday following their 78-59 win over #14 Cornell.  Just like the Tigers did in the Big 12 tournament.  A close first half.  The Tigers led 29-25, then DeMarre Carroll and Leo Lyons beat Cornell inside, built their lead by as 18.

The Tigers halfway through the 2 nd half they were shooting 77 percent.  Leo Lyons and DeMarre Carroll have combined for 34 points. 

Lyons, 21 points 10 rebounds.  Carroll, 13 points, 7 rebounds.  Freshmen Kim Enlgish had 13 points off the bench.   Matt Lawrence was 0 for 6 from beyond the three point line. 

The Tigers reach 29 wins.  If they can beat Marquette, they’ll reach 30 wins for the first time.  Marquette beat Utah State 58-57.
