Lindenwood men’s ice hockey advanced to the national semifinals on Monday evening with a 5-1 victory over Liberty.

Neither team scored until four minutes into the second period when Chad Boeckman scored a power play goal. The Lions added two more goals that period from Kyle Bailey and Adam Krefski.

In the third period, Lindenwood increased its lead to five after Boeckman’s second goal and a Cory Spradling score. Robi Cavillari had a shutout going in goal until Liberty broke it with its only goal with 58 seconds remaining.

Krefski had four points after also recording three assists, and Boeckman and Bailey each finished with three points.

The Lions will face the tournament’s Cinderella on Tuesday evening in the ACHA Division I Semifinals by taking on 11th-seed West Chester at 5:30 p.m.
