The last member of the Rams Super Bowl Champion team was released today.  St. Louis cut Torry Holt after 10 seasons with the team.  Holt holds the SB record for receptions by a rookie.

Rams Owner/Chairman Chip Rosenbloom said, "He is an All-Pro in every sense of the word. Over the past 10 seasons Torry has proven himself to be one of the finest wide receivers in league history. This is a difficult decision because Torry has meant so much to the organization."

It wasn’t difficult enough to absorb a big hit on their salary cap of the $1.25 million bonus he was due in just a few days.

Holt, is 32 and ranks 11 th on the NFL’s all-time receptions list with 869 and 14 th on the NFL’s all-time receiving yards list with 12,660.  A seven-time Pro Bowl selection, Holt has averaged 80.1 receiving yards per game over his career, the best in NFL history.  Since 2000, Holt has accumulated 817 receptions for 11,872 yards, best in the NFL during that time period.

Holt was the Rams sixth overall choice in the 1999 NFL Draft.  He ranks second in team history in receptions (869), receiving yards (12.660) and receiving touchdowns (74).

Holt holds the Super Bowl rookie record with seven receptions and 109 receiving yards, established in Super Bowl XXXIV.
