The State Senate has approved HB 14 – a supplemental budget bill for the remaining months of the 2009 fiscal year.

It’s a $312,313,714 package, which includes $28,463,438 from General Revenue, $157,863,090 in federal money, and $125,863,090 from other sources. The Senate version of the supplemental budget has been sent to the House. Either the House will accept the Senate version or the two versions, which have minor variations, will have to be reconciled in a House-Senate conference.

Senate discussion included more than an hour of debate between Senator Jason Crowell (R-Cape Girardeau) and Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Gary Nodler (R-Joplin) as the two discussed Crowell’s concerns over unspecified spending.
