Four Division II schools in Missouri make up half of the eight team field in the MIAA post-season basketball tournament set to tip off at noon at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, MO.

Nationally ranked #4 Southwest Baptist in Bolivar is the number one seed and #8 Central Missouri will be the number two seed.  The Bearcats will have a tough road ahead of them this weekend.  They will be without the services of  MIAA MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and First Team All-MIAA Matt Rogers due to illness and he will likely miss the entire weekend.

He leads the MIAA in scoring (18.9 PPG). Rogers also leads Division II in blocks (4.1). He is also second in the MIAA in rebounds (8.67), third in field goal percentage (51.5%), fourth in free throw percentage (75.5%), and ninth in three point percentage (40.5%).

Senior G/F and honorable mention All-MIAA Nick Kovacevich, who’s also out due to injury, ranks in the MIAA top ten in assist/turnover ratio (2nd – 2.05).

SBU opens against Missouri Western.  The Mules will play in the final game of the first round tipping of at 6pm against Missouri Southern.  The Mules are second in the regional rankings and despite what happens this weekend, both CMSU and SBU should have spots in the national tournament.
