The St. Louis Rams were able to keep seven time Pro Bowlers Torry Holt and Orlando Pace through the first weekend of free agency, but it’s not known if they will remain with the team come draft day.

This weekend the Rams shored up their offensive line by signing center Jason Brown from Baltimore for $37.5 million over five years.  The Rams are also intested in re-signing cornerback Ron Bartell and saftety James Butler who played two years under Steve Spanuolo in New York.  The Rams would have enough money to sign those two along with Brown and not need to release Holt and/or Pace to make salary cap room, but NFL sources are saying the Rams would be open to shopping the two vets.

Most likely any trade scenario would include another team’s draft picks which would make the Rams younger and would free up additional money should the team go after more free agents, however some of the players they are interested in have signed with other teams including Brandon Jones (Ten) and Nate Washington (Pit) at wide receiver and running back Derrick Ward (NYG)
