The Cardinals pounded out 19 hits and won a slugfest over the Florida Marlins with a 14-11 win on Sunday. Brian Barton was 3 for 5 with two home runs and six runs driven in.
Joe Mather added two RBIs. Ryan Ludwick, Yadier Molina and Khalil Greene each had multi-hit games. Tyler Greene added a two-run single in the ninth inning. Molina now leaves the team to head to Puerto Rico’s training site in preparation for the World Baseball Classic.
Joel Pineiro worked two innings, yielding one run on two hits with a walk and two strikeouts. In the third inning, Kyle McClellan gave up a two-run homer to Jeremy Hermida in the third.
The Cards take on the AL champion Rays Monday at 12:05.
