There would be no miracle 2 nd half comeback this time around.  The Kansas Jayhawks built a 26 point halftime lead and never let Missouri in the game as the Tigers fall at Allen Fieldhouse 90-65.  It was KU’s 40 th straight win at home.

This game started out very similar to the first game with Kansas controlling the play and tempo.  The Tigers started the game shooting 3 for 17 from the field and the play that turned the tide early was when JT Tiller missed a layup down 7-5.  KU came back the other way and center Cole Aldrich dunk an outlet pass the other way.  KU went on a 14-2 run.

Leo Lyons who finished with 20 points, had 11 of Missouri’s first 14 as nobody outside of him could make a basket.  The Tigers were down 45-19 at the half.

Sherron Collins dominated JT Tiller scoring 25 points and Aldridge controlled the boards with 19 points, 14 rebounds and two blocked shots.

The Tigers shot 36% for the game and just like the first outing when they went 2 of 14 from three, the Tigers were just 3 of 17 today.  Mizzou went undefeated in February, but did not start the month of Madness they way they had hoped.

The good news is the Tigers can finish no worse than third in the Big 12 and they’ll still get a bye in the first round of the Big 12 tournament.  The bad news is their confidence has to be shaken.   After watching Sunday’s game it is more apparent the Tiger’s win over KU was more the Jayhawks blowing it than the Tigers earning the comeback.
