Doniphan, Mo native Matt Rogers of Southwest Baptist University has been named MIAA Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row and fourth time this season.
Rogers, a 6- foot- 11, 205- pound junior averaged 24.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 blocked shots as the No. 5 Bearcats maintained a share of first place with two home wins last week. He scored a career high 37 points in SBU’s 81- 70 victory Tuesday (Feb. 10) over Emporia State. It was his fourth 30- point game of the season.
In the Bearcats 86- 84 win over against Washburn, Rogers scored 11 points with eight rebounds and six blocked shots. He also added two steals and two assists.
