2-4 Haley.jpg The Kansas City Chiefs have hired Arizona Cardinal offensive coordinator Todd Haley as their new head coach.  The two sides agreed to terms and Haley will get paid $12 million over four years.

Haley interviewed earlier this week and has been rumored as the number one choice ever since new GM Scott Pioli fired Herm Edwards on January 23rd.  According to an ESPN story, Haley should have been in Hawaii as a guest of Cardinals’ wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald at the Pro Bowl, but he has not made that trip which makes me believe he’ll be in KC Friday for a formal introduction.

Pioli and Haley worked together with the Jets in the late 90’s.  Haley’s offense, led by former Rams Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner, gained over 300 passing
yards against Pittsburgh, the best defense in the NFL.
