Today is the day when most student-athletes make their verbal commitments a reality across the country. This is a big day for the Missouri Tigers who are losing 23 seniors and look to the future to continue this latest run of success.
The Tigers already have two commitments and there are several that are as good as gold, but there are a couple of question marks that are still hanging out there. According to Rivals.com, the Tigers have the 36th best recruiting class.
Ahead of Missouri in the Big 12 is Texas Tech at 34, Oklahoma State 32, Kansas 28, Nebraska 25, Texas A & M 18, Oklahoma 13, and Texas 3.
In addition to Harrison and Tatum, the Tigers are locked up at QB with Blaine Dalton and Ashton Glaser. With Drew Temple opting to leave the program, Mizzou has just two running backs under scholarship and now Ronnie Wingo from St. Louis University High who last week said he was going to Arkansas may be wavering a bit and reports are that he may go back to Mizzou.
The other big name to watch for out of the St. Louis area is Sheldon Richardson of Gateway who gave his verbal to MU, but took a last minute trip to Miami.
Mizzou head coach Gary Pinkel will hold a press conference today at 4pm to announce this year’s class. We’ll have more coverage with audio and video later today on Missourinet.com
