St. Louisian finishes second at US skating championships

St. Louis native Brandon Mroz finished 2 nd in the US men’s figure skating championships.  Mroz earns a spot in the World Championships in Los Angeles in March.

Jeremy Abbott won his first U.S. senior men’s title Sunday. Abbott won both the short program and the free skate en route to scoring 241.89 points. Brandon Mroz took the silver, edging out two-time defending U.S. champion Evan Lysacek earned the bronze.

Mroz was fourth after the short program.
