Two Mizzou women soccer players were selected in the Women’s Professional Soccer draft this past Friday in St. Louis. The Boston Breakers chose former striker Jenny Nobis in the 5 th round who played from ’02 to ’05 and senior defender Kat Tarr was taken by the Chicago Red Stars in the 8 th round.
Seven teams will begin play at the end of March, early April. St. Louis will field a team in this inaugural season. St. Louis Athletica will open their season on Sunday, April 5th, when they take on Tarr and the Red Stars on the SIU-Edwardsville campus.
Nobis and Tarr will face off the following weekend in Massachusettes. U.S. Olympic star Hope Solo will be the number one goalie for St. Louis.
