Woman believed to be the oldest nurse in US dies in St. Louis

A St. Louis area woman believed to be the oldest registered nurse in the United States has died at St. Mary’s Health Center in Richmond Heights.

Clyantha Stanford Glover died just hours before a party was to have been held in her honor at Delmar Gardens North in Florissant. Born in Texas, Glover came to St. Louis in 1923 to attend the Homer G. Phillips School of Nursing where she graduated in 1926. She worked at Phillips until her retirement in 1969.

She was 108.
