It appears we are changing our driving habits. Mike Right with AAA Missouri says there is a trend that sees Missourians and other Americans driving fewer miles. And, he says the trend didn’t just begin with last summer’s high gasoline prices.

Right says even though Missouri pump prices have come down to about $1.50 a gallon for regular unleaded gas, we are still driving fewer miles. He attributes this, in part, to people experiencing a lot of economic stress which leads to fewer leisure trips. He adds the trips motorists are taking are of a shorter duration.
