Central Missouri beats Pitt State in OT

December 30, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

The Central Missouri Mules trailed by five with only 23 seconds left but found a way to force overtime and eventually get a big MIAA win against the Pittsburg State Gorillas, 79-72.

A layup by senior guard Josiah Miller with 23 seconds left, followed by three pointer from senior guard Joe Young made it 61-61.   Pitt State had a chance to win it but missed a couple of late attempts.

It was all UCM in OT though, outscoring PSU 18-11 and hitting 13-of-18 foul shots to lead by as many as nine.  The game was tied at 64 when Young hit another three pointer with 3:37 to go in OT and the Mules never looked backed.

Central Missouri is now 9-2 on the year, 2-2 in MIAA conference play.
