25th ranked Missouri took out some of their frustration following the loss to Illinois by whipping Southern Illinois Edwardsville 107-57 at Mizzou Arena on Saturday.  The 107 points were the most for the Tigers this season.

All 14 Tiger players scored at least two points in the game, led by senior forward DeMarre Carroll, who scored a double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 boards in 19 minutes of play.  Four freshman reached double figures in the win.

Miguel Paul, Marcus Denmon, Kim English and Laurence Bowers all netted double digits and Bowers missed a double-double with seven boards, while English and Paul combined for nine assists and just two turnovers. For the game Missouri’s bench outscored SIUE 62-57 and the 62 bench points set a new school record for the Tigers, breaking the 58 bench tallies recorded by the Tigers last season in a double-overtime win against Iowa State.

"I thought the guys came out with much more energy and dictated the tempo of the game from the get-go," Head Coach Mike Anderson said. "Our starters set the tone and that allowed our bench to play well and have a chance to play extended minutes. I think you saw our younger players get some much-needed playing time. Playing time breeds confidence. We needed that type of effort today."

Missouri jumped to a 59-24 halftime advantage led by Carroll and showed no ill-effects of an ankle injury suffered on Tuesday against Illinois.  Carroll played just six minutes in the second half, giving way to Bowers and junior college newcomer Keith Ramsey, who added six points, six boards and two dimes.

Missouri returns to action on Tuesday against Centenary College. Game time at Mizzou Arena is set for 7 p.m.
