The #3 SBU Bearcats will return from a 16-day layoff to one of their
toughest tests so far this season when they take on the undefeated #10
Lions of Missouri Southern at the Meyer Sports Center on Monday night.

SBU is currently in the midst of a 21-game home court winning streak, which began on February 24, 2007 with a 108-89 victory over Emporia State. The Bearcats last played on December 13, when they defeated Pittsburg State 82-76 at Pittsburg, Kansas. SBU ranks #6 nationally in scoring offense, with an output of 96.4 points per game.

The Bearcats are led by junior Matt Rogers, who leads the MIAA in points (22.6 per game), rebounds (9.8), three-point field goal percentage (.525), blocks (5.11, which also leads the nation), and defensive rebounds (6.78). Senior guard D’Ante Harris is 8th in the MIAA in scoring (15.1), 3rd in free throw percentage (81%) and 2nd in three-pointers made (2.67). Senior Nick Kovacevich is second in assist/turnover ratio (3.67) and tied for second in assists (4.89 per game).

Vincent Ateba leads the Lions, averaging 14.1 points per game, followed closely by Skyler Bowlin who averages just over 12.  Ateba is also Southern’s leading rebounder.  Mariun Price and Skyler Bowlin are the two Lions who shoot 38% and 33% respectively from beyond the three point line.
