Today is expected to be one of the biggest days of the year at retail stores and shopping malls throughout Missouri. The day after Christmas is known as Boxing Day in places like Canada and Great Britain – a day in which people visit stores to return gifts that are too big or too small or are the wrong color.

Missouri Retailers Association President David Overfelt says that while we just call it the day after Christmas, this day has all the markings of Boxing Day. Overfelt says this day features a lot of bargains aimed at people who are heading to stores to return gifts or to redeem gift cards. He says retailers are hoping that people returning or exchanging gifts will look around and do a little bit of extra shopping while they’re in the stores.
