On Today’s Mizzou Bowl Report, we’ll focus on sophomore running back Derrick Washington. I think D-Wash has been one of the pleasant surprises this season. Some people wondered what the running game would be like post Tony Temple, but very early on Washington showed he would more than carry his share of the load. He has 992 net rushing yards this year with 17 touchdowns and a 6.1 yards per carry attempt. He evaluates his play after his first full season. He says as the season has gone on his confidence has grown. Now that may be one area where this Tigers team is lacking in…confidence. However, Washington says the confidence is still there in the team, he just thinks with their last two games, they’ve lost a little respect.I will say this, he doesn’t seem to lack any confidence. I talk with the seniors and they talk about executing, preparing to play the game well. Derrick says Northwestern is a good team, but he thinks their speed could be too much for the Wildcats.Coming up on tomorrow’s Mizzou Bowl Report, we’ll hear from Chase Coffman and Chase Daniel as they wrap up their collegiate careers in just five days.
