Former Missouri student-athletes, an administrator, and a championship football team have been selected for induction into Mizzou’s Athletics Hall of Fame.  They will represent the 19th induction class since the inception of the Hall in 1990. 

Here is a look at this year’s inductees, with a short background on each. 

Ann Marie Brooks – Women’s Track/Cross Country (2000-03).  A native of St. Joseph, Mo., she was one of MU’s highest-achieving student-athletes both on the track and in the classroom.  Was an NCAA champ, five-time All-American and also a five-time academic All-American;

Jean Cerra – Administration (1976-85).  A native of Tampa, Fla., Cerra was one of the more central founding figures in Mizzou history, as she helped pave the way for women’s athletics to gain a foothold in the 1970s when it was fighting for legitimacy;

Dave Harvey – Baseball (1962-64).  The Quincy, Il. native was a first-team All-American third baseman in 1964 who helped lead Mizzou to three straight Big Eight titles and three consecutive College World Series appearances, capped by a national runner-up showing in 1964;

Rick Lyle – Football/Men’s Track & Field (1990-93)  Lyle was an outstanding two-sport standout who was MU’s career QB sacks leader and was an All-American shot putter, before going on to an accomplished nine-year NFL career;

Vince Tobin – Football/Football Coach (1962-76) A longtime fixture in the Mizzou football program as both a standout player and successful coach who would go on to become a head coach in the National Football League;

1941 Football Team –

Arguably one of MU’s most dominant teams ever, outscoring foes by a 226-to-39 margin, shutting out six opponents on the way to a #7 final ranking.  This was the team that debuted Don Faurot’s famous Split-T offensive attack, which revolutionized the game;
