Luke Husdson has a chance to catch back on with the Royals after signing a minor league contract on Thursday.  He will be invited to Royals’ spring training with a shot of catching on with the team.

The 31 year old Hudson missed all of last year after having shoulder surgery and made just one start in 2007 before being shut down.  Hudson pitched in 2006 with KC and went 7-6 with a 5.12 ERA in 26 appearances.  He is 17-18 overall with a 5.11 ERA in five big league seasons.

To help stay in shape and stay busy during the offseaon, Royals’ starting pitcher Kyle Davies is working construction.  He tells the Kansas City Star that he does everything from pouring concrete, digging ditches, picking up garbage.

Davies, who made $427,000 last year is trying to catch on to fill one of the five spots in their starting rotation.

The Royals have tickets on sale for their Awards Night and FanFest. The awards night is Jan. 16 at the Sheraton in Overland Park, and FanFest will be the next day, at the Overland Park Convention Center, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Jan. 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
