The Missouri Tigers are 8-1 and could certainly be 9-0 if they would have hit free throws down the stretch in that Xavier game down in Puerto Rico.   While the Tigers aren’t there yet, they are ranked higher than the Kansas Jayhawks.

Xavier is 9-0 and ranked 7th in the country and the Tiger beat California impressively.  The thing to keep in mind as head coach Mike Anderson has stated is he’s not getting too excited about any potential rankings before Big 12 play.  He said it all matters where you’re at by the end of the season.

What you’ll see from this Tiger team this year is a team that looks really good at times and then you’ll see them make some young mistakes.  It helps having DeMarre Carroll, Leo Lyons, and JT Tiller.  Even Matt Lawrence is coming around on his three point shooting.  How far or how well this team does this year is going to depend on players like transfer Zaire Taylor, their fifth starter and play off the bench from Justin Safford, Marcus Denmon, Miguel Paul, and Kim English.

Anderson likes his options, but it will be interesting to see how the young Mizzou players match up in Big 12 play.

The Tigers play this Saturday at home against Stetson.  They University has also announced,  that Mizzou  fans traveling to Columbia to watch over the holiday break (Dec. 20-Jan. 17) will get FREE parking in Lot G (Champions Drive), Lot M (east side of Hearnes) and the east side of Memorial Stadium.

The holiday break games include contests vs. Stetson (Dec. 20), SIU-Edwardsville (Dec. 27), Centenary (Dec. 30) and Coppin State (Jan. 6), as well as Big 12 showdowns against Colorado (Jan. 14) and Iowa State (Jan. 17).
