Mortenen Anderson quiiting at age 48 The NFL will announce their Pro Bowl team next week and it appears that Chiefs veteran tight end Tony Gonzalez will make it for the 10 th timeā€¦and not because it’s just a popularity thing either.  His stats are right up there with past years.

With three games left to play, Gonzalez has78 catches which is better than six of his other Pro Bowl seasons.  His 879 yards third from the bottom but he still has games left and this will probably be his fourth best year in that category.  He also has seven touchdowns this season.

His best year was 2004 when he pulled in 102 catches for 1,258 yards.  That year he had seven touchdowns.  His best year for TD’s came in his first Pro Bowl year in 1999 when he had 11.

The NFL’s all-time leading scorer Morten Anderson announced his retirement after not catching on with a team this year.  Anderson played for five teams for 25 seasons including two with the Chiefs.

I was able to find some stats on Anderson’s extra points and kickoffs which he handled for 13 of his 25 years.  That along with some estimating on his field goals made between 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50+ yards, I’m guessing that Anderson has kicked the ball over 47 miles in his career!!!
