The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks have struggled again in Tony Samuel’s third year as they get ready for their last home game of the year against UT-Martin, but the 3-8 Redhawks are enjoying some individual highlights.

SEMO receiver Walter Peoples leads the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks 23 rd nationally in receptions per game at six.  The junior is second in the Ohio Valley and 36 th in the country in receiving yards per game at 78.9 yards per game.

Two weeks ago, linebacker Nick Stauffer and kicker Doug Spada were named Ohio Valley Conference players of the week.

Stauffer had a career high 21 tackles in their comeback win over Tennessee State and Spada nailed two field goals including a 37 yarder to force overtime.  Spada ranks third in the nation with an average of 44.42 yards per punt.

The Redhawks are 7 th in the nine team OVC standings.
