Royals sign Duckworth

November 11, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

You can never have enough starting pitching.  That’s the way the Royals are approaching their one year deal with 32 year old pitcher Brandon Duckworth who pitched well down the stretch last season.

Duckworth spent most of 2008 at AAA Omaha, but got called up on August 24th when Luke Hochevar got hurt and Duckworth went 3-3 with a 4.50 ERA.  Duckworth will be invited to spring training, but is expected to start the season again down in the minors.

The Royals now have 38 of their 40 man roster filled.
